Foam Parties in Wayland
What Is a Foam Party?
A foam party is an outdoor event where a foam cannon fills your yard, driveway, or field with mountains of safe, bubbly foam that kids (and adults) can dance, play, and dive in. Bigfoot runs them two ways: a self-managed Basic Foam Party, where Kevin drops off the cannon, shows you how it works, and you run the foam whenever you want all day, or an operator-run Glow Foam Party, where a trained Bigfoot operator runs the whole show under lights after dark.
If your kids have been to Summerfest, the downtown kick-off to summer every June, they have seen a foam party: it sits on the kids’ lineup right beside the mini golf and the balloon twister. A backyard foam party is that same afternoon without the crowd, and Kevin, a nurse and a dad, handles every delivery himself.

Local Know-How
Where to Set Up in Wayland
A foam cannon needs about 20′ × 20′ of grass, asphalt, or concrete (not gravel or sand), plus a standard outlet and a hose spigot within 50 feet. Most foam parties in Wayland happen in a backyard or driveway, and a driveway with a spigot beats every park on this list. Parks can work for daytime foam with some paperwork; they close at dusk, so glow foam stays in the backyard.
- Wayland City Park. Two picnic shelters, a gazebo, restrooms, a playground, and the splash pad. City property is reserved with the “Application to Use City Assets” on the City of Wayland parks page: no fee, but it needs 30 days’ lead time and City Council approval (council meets the first and third Monday). The form does not mention foam, hoses, or shelter electricity, so ask when you file. Public Works, which maintains the parks: (269) 792-0686.
- Gun Lake Park (Allegan County, 2397 Patterson Rd.). A pavilion with electricity, $50 half day or $80 full day on ReserveAmerica. The county requires a $25 special use permit and a certificate of liability for inflatables; foam is not named, so call (269) 686-9088, describe the cannon, and expect the same paperwork. We supply the certificate. Ask about a hose spigot.
- Bysterveld Park (Allegan County, 4171 14th St.). A bigger pavilion ($80 half day, $150 full day) but no electricity, so you would need a generator. Ask us about generator options.
- Schools and churches. Glow foam belongs at a Wayland Union grad party in June or a youth-group night in September while the evenings are still warm. Daytime basic foam suits the Baker, Steeby, Pine Street, and Dorr Elementary crowds, and a VBS finale on the lawn at Wayland Christian Reformed Church on E. Elm St. is the kind of thing kids talk about until next June. We send a certificate of insurance to the school, the PTO, or the church.
From the Rabbit River side of the city to Bradley, Shelbyville, Moline, and the Gun Lake corner of the township, a driveway and a spigot is all we need.
No Surprises
What’s Included in Your Wayland Foam Party
- The foam cannon and foam solution — everything needed to bury the backyard in bubbles

- Hospital-grade sanitized equipment — every rental, every time

You provide three things: the space (backyard, driveway, or field), a standard outlet, and a hose spigot within 50 feet. We bring the extension cord and the connections; you supply the hose. Everything Parents Ask
Foam Party FAQs — Wayland Edition
What does a foam party rental in Wayland cost?
A Basic Foam Party is $275 for the day and a Glow Foam Party starts at $400, with delivery, setup, and takedown in Wayland, Dorr, Bradley, Moline, and Shelbyville included. Extra hours of foam solution on the Basic package are $75 each. No surprise fees.
Is Wayland inside your delivery area?
Yes. Wayland is about 19 minutes from us in Caledonia by 142nd Avenue, and Wayland and Wayland Township are inside the standard service area, so delivery is built into the price.
Can we hold a foam party at Wayland City Park?
Possibly. File the City’s “Application to Use City Assets” at least 30 days ahead (no fee; City Council approves it at a first- or third-Monday meeting), and ask about a hose spigot and a usable outlet near the shelter you want, since the form covers neither. If the park cannot supply water, a backyard is the answer.
What hookups does the foam cannon need?
One standard outlet and one hose spigot, each within 50 feet of the cannon. We bring the extension cord and the connections; you supply the hose. No water truck, no special drain. Gun Lake Park’s pavilion has power; Bysterveld’s does not, so ask us about generator options there.
Are you insured, and can you send a certificate to a school, church, or the county?
Yes. Bigfoot Bounce Houses is fully insured, and Kevin will email a certificate of insurance naming Wayland Union Schools, Wayland CRC, a PTO, or Allegan County Parks for a special use permit. Give us the event date and the office contact.
How far in advance do foam parties in Wayland book up?
Two to four weeks in peak season, May through September, and three to four weeks for glow. June is the crunch: Summerfest weekend, grad parties, and VBS all land in the same month, so reserve as soon as you have a date.
Ready to Make Your Wayland Party Legendary?
Bigfoot Bounce Houses is a one-man shop, so Kevin sees every message. Book your foam party and he handles delivery, setup, safety, and squeaky-clean fun so you can enjoy the day.
