Where to set up in Kentwood

Kentwood city park shelters are off the table. The City’s Park Shelter Rentals sheet says “Bounce houses are NOT allowed,” and that covers all eight reservable shelters: Veterans Memorial, Pinewood, Northeast, Stanaback, Bowen Station, East Paris Nature, Home Acres, and Kellogg Woods. The same sheet says electricity at shelters is not guaranteed. If you want to ask about an exception, call Kentwood Parks & Rec at (616) 656-5270 and get the answer in writing.

Where a bounce house rental in Kentwood does work:

  • Your backyard or driveway. A flat patch of grass, asphalt, or concrete about 30 by 22 feet (the unit plus 5 feet of clearance on every side), 20 feet of overhead clearance, and a standard outlet within 50 feet. No gravel, sand, or rock.
  • Church campuses. Kentwood Community Church on 60th Street, St. Mary Magdalen on 52nd, and Kentwood Christian Church on Kalamazoo Avenue all have the lawn for it. Ask the church office where the nearest outside outlet is, and we’ll send them a certificate of insurance.
  • School grounds. Kentwood Public Schools books its facilities through an online request and requires a current certificate of insurance on file. We provide one for your PTO.
  • The new Kentwood Community Center (4755 Walma Ave SE). Its event venue, The Grove, holds up to 175 guests. The inflatable policy isn’t published yet, so call (616) 656-5270 before you book.

What we bring

The Extra Large Bounce House is 20 feet long, 12 feet wide, and 16 feet 4 inches tall, with more than 300 square feet of bounce area, mesh windows all the way around, and fire-resistant vinyl. It rents for $275 per day. One blower runs on one standard 110V circuit; blower, cord, and stakes come with it, plus sandbags for driveways. You supply the outlet within 50 feet and a responsible adult to supervise. Five to six kids of similar size can bounce at once.

How it works

1. Pick your date. Reserve on the rentals page. From May through September, book 2 to 4 weeks ahead; weekends go first.

2. Kevin sets it up. He stakes it on grass or sandbags it on pavement, checks the blower, and walks you through the safety rules.

3. Party, then pickup. Kevin tears down, hauls it away, and runs the full sanitizing cycle (sweep and inspect, disinfect, final inspection) before the next family.

Weather: inflatables come down if winds pass 15 to 20 mph or it rains. Kevin watches the forecast and will cancel ahead of time with a full refund if conditions look unsafe. Bigfoot might be famous for disappearing into the woods, but we pride ourselves on showing up.

Bounce house FAQs — Kentwood edition

How much does a bounce house rental in Kentwood cost?

$275 for a one-day rental, including delivery, setup, takedown, and sanitizing. There are no fuel or mileage add-ons for Kentwood. Overnight or multi-day rentals are possible for an extra fee, so just ask.

Is delivery to Kentwood included?

Yes. Kentwood is about 11 miles and 16 minutes from our base in Caledonia, well inside our service area, and every Kentwood address gets the same $275 price.

Can I set up a bounce house at Veterans Memorial Park or Pinewood Park?

No. The City of Kentwood’s shelter rules say bounce houses are not allowed, and that includes the two splash-pad parks, Veterans Memorial on 48th Street and Pinewood on Wolfboro Drive. Use your yard, a church lawn, or a school field instead.

What power do I need?

One standard 110V outlet within 50 feet of where the bounce house sits. We bring the extension cord and the blower. No outlet nearby? Ask us about generator options when you book.

Are you insured? Can you send a certificate of insurance to my school or church?

Yes on both. Bigfoot Bounce Houses is fully insured, and we’ll send a certificate of insurance to Kentwood Public Schools, a church office, or any venue that asks. KPS requires a current COI on file for groups using district facilities, so send us your PTO’s event date and we’ll get it over early.

How far ahead should I book?

Two to four weeks in peak season, May through September. Grad-party weekends and the Fourth of July go fast, so lock in your date before you send invitations.
