Water Slide Rental in Hastings, MI — Dash N’ Splash, Wet or Dry

Water slide rental in Hastings, MI: the Dash N' Splash inflatable water slide and obstacle course combo from Bigfoot Bounce Houses

Bigfoot Bounce Houses West Michigan is a one-man, family-owned inflatable rental company in Caledonia. Hastings is the far end of our route, 18 miles and about 22 minutes down M-37, and we don’t charge for a mile of it: delivery, setup, and takedown are part of the $349 price of a water slide rental in Hastings.

Hastings is a water town. The Thornapple River runs through downtown, Algonquin Lake and Thornapple Lake sit a few minutes out, and the city built its own splash pad at State and Church. Dash N’ Splash is the private-party version: a 25-foot water slide with an obstacle course in front of it, set up in your backyard for the day. Kevin, the owner, is a nurse and a dad, so every unit gets a hospital-grade three-step sanitizing after each event, and we carry full insurance.

Check your date and reserve Dash N’ Splash online, or text (616) 232-6077 with your date and address.

Where to set up in Hastings

A water slide needs one thing a bounce house doesn’t: a hose spigot within 50 feet. That single item decides most locations. In a backyard you need flat grass, asphalt, or concrete, about 35′ × 32′ (the 25′ × 22′ unit plus 5 feet of clearance all around), 20 feet overhead with no branches or wires, and a standard outlet and a hose spigot, each within 50 feet. Hose and extension cord are ours. No gravel, sand, or rock.

  • City parks. Fish Hatchery Park (1011 W. Green St.) and Tyden Park (N. Broadway) each have two shelters, restrooms, and a playground. Reserve a pavilion with the Park Reservation Form at City Hall: $50 for city residents, $80 for non-residents. The form is candid on two points: electricity “is not assured to be usable,” and it says nothing about hose hookups or inflatables. Call City Hall at (269) 945-2468, ask specifically about a spigot, and plan on a generator for the blower. Ask us about generator options.
  • Historic Charlton Park (2545 S. Charlton Park Rd.) has the best power of any park on this page: nine outlets under a 220-seat pavilion, plus flush restrooms, a drinking fountain, and a swimming beach on Thornapple Lake. Two catches for a slide. Underground utilities mean staff must approve any staking spot ahead of time, so we’d sandbag instead, and no hose spigot is listed, so ask when you call 269-945-3775. The pavilion is $150 to $200 a day, books April into early October, and takes one event per day.
  • Lake cottages and big yards. From the Green Street side by Fish Hatchery Park to Hammond Hills to the cottages on Algonquin Lake, if there’s a spigot and 35 feet of grass, we can set up. On a lake lot, use the flat stretch of lawn rather than the slope down to the water.

What we bring

Dash N’ Splash is a water slide and obstacle course combo, 25′ long, 22′ wide, and 17′ high. Riders climb the wall, push through pop-up obstacles, crawl the tunnels, and finish down the slide into a splash pool. The pool is included, not an add-on. One blower on one standard circuit powers all of it.

$349 per day covers delivery to Hastings, setup, stakes or sandbags, the blower, hose, and cord, takedown, and sanitizing. One rider on the slide at a time, and an adult supervising the whole rental; Kevin goes over both at setup.

It runs wet or dry. For a late-May grad open house or a September birthday, Kevin leaves the hose in the truck and sets it up as a straight obstacle course with a slide finish, same price, no soggy kids. The obstacle course makes this the pick once kids outgrow a bounce house.

Pair it with the Extra Large Bounce House for the younger siblings on the same trip, or add a foam party or a cotton candy machine (from $110).

How it works

1. Book your date. Pick your date on the rentals page, or text (616) 232-6077 with your date and address.

2. Kevin delivers and sets up. He stakes or sandbags the unit, connects the hose and blower, fills the splash pool, and walks you through the safety rules: one rider on the slide at a time and a responsible adult supervising throughout.

3. You enjoy the party. Afterward we drain, tear down, haul away, and run the three-step sanitizing (sweep and inspect, disinfect, final inspection).

Weather: the slide has to come down if winds exceed 15 to 20 mph or it rains. Kevin watches the forecast and will cancel ahead of time with a full refund if conditions look unsafe. Booking: 2 to 4 weeks ahead in peak season (May through September), and summer Saturdays go first.

Water slide FAQs — Hastings edition

How much is a water slide rental in Hastings?

$349 for the day, wet or dry, including delivery, setup, the splash pool, hose and cord, blower, takedown, and sanitizing. There’s no distance charge for Hastings.

Is delivery to Hastings included?

Yes. Hastings is about 22 minutes from Caledonia on M-37 and inside our included delivery area, so delivery, setup, and pickup are built into the price, the same as for Middleville on the way down. If the setup spot is a long carry from where Kevin can park, mention it when you book.

Can I set up Dash N’ Splash at Tyden Park?

With a pavilion reservation from City Hall ($50 resident, $80 non-resident) and two answers: is there a hose spigot near the shelter, and is the power usable. The form promises neither and doesn’t address inflatables, so call (269) 945-2468. If water is a no, the slide can still run dry with a generator.

What power and water do I need?

One standard outlet and one garden hose spigot, both within 50 feet of the setup spot. We bring the hose and cord, and the blower runs on a single standard circuit. Charlton Park’s pavilion has nine outlets; city pavilions may have none, so plan a generator there.

Are you insured, and can you send a certificate to a school or church?

Yes. Bigfoot Bounce Houses is fully insured, and Kevin will email a certificate of insurance to Hastings Area Schools, your church, or Charlton Park before the date. Just tell us the name to list.

How far ahead should I book a water slide in Hastings?

Two to four weeks in peak season, May through September. Hot July weekends around Barry County Fair week and Summerfest weekend at the end of August go first. If your date is closer, text us anyway; weekdays sometimes open up.
